TDL reaches Motor Transport Awards finals

Trade Distribution Limited (TDL), the logistics division of the Heron & Brearley Group, has reached the finals of the Motor Transport Awards (MTA) in the Partnership category.
The achievement comes after the company formed a partnership with Braddan-based assisted living equipment manufacturer DLP and its Droitwich Spa-based sales and distribution subsidiary AKW. The deal saw TDL devise and implement a bespoke UK-wide logistics operation for AKW with a 100 per cent success rate and go on to secure a second five-year contract.
TDL’s managing director Steve Pickett said: ‘First to be awarded a further five-year contract with AKW and now to be selected as a finalist in the Motor Transport Awards has cemented TDL’s reputation as a UK-wide leader in the logistics industry. It’s also testimony to the core H&B strategy that success comes from listening to and learning from the customer.
‘From the outset AKW was a hugely cooperative partner, receptive to new ideas and modes of working. Outcomes have been 100 per cent measurable, in terms of delivery completion and on-time and damage-free delivery. Additionally AKW and DLP have gained substantial incremental business on the strength of TDL’s customised new delivery network.
‘To be shortlisted for an MTA award is to be recognised by our industry peers as a company operating at the height of its game; it also gives us that all-important competitive edge, so crucial in these challenging trading times. Being a finalist is a coup for TDL and our partners at AKW and DLP; additionally, with TDL being a Manx company, I’m delighted that the Isle of Man is able to share in our continuing success story.’
The 2016 Motor Transport Awards will be announced on July 6 at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
